"My company has been framing for over ten years. We have used spray adhesives, brush adhesives, and contracted out work with little or no profit to show in the end results. We have done this, mostly as a convenience for our customers and to better market our business. Three years ago we purchased a 3' x 4' Tullis Russell Drytac hot press after taking a Vivian Kistler class at the Las Vegas trade show. It was at this time we realized just how poorly we'd been mounting posters, photos and other materials. With the new machine it now takes us 3 minutes instead of 24 hours to produce a perfectly mounted piece or do a canvas transfer. The glass on the top is a must! We can now see exactly what is being done as it progresses, eliminating the guesswork. Being able to see the mount as it occurs and the vacuum as it forms gives me the security of knowing the job is being done correctly. We've now opened a second location and are in the process of purchasing the 4' x 8' model to allow us to produce even larger mounts and transfers, all in-house.
