Drytac adhesive media solutions to be showcased across the floor at FESPA 2019

With Drytac products, you can transform a shop in a matter of hours – not days!

The forthcoming FESPA event will showcase a multitude of products from Drytac® – a leading international manufacturer of self-adhesive materials for the large format print and signage markets – allowing visitors to experience them across the event space.

Taking place across six halls of the Messe Munich in Germany from May 14th to 17th, FESPA Global Print Expo 2019 is the premier professional wide-format print exhibition in Europe, covering a large range of industries and applications. As such it is the ideal environment for a presentation of Drytac’s extensive product portfolio.

Delegates will be able to see Drytac SpotOn Floor 200 specialist floor media in use across the show floor – literally, as it will be used for the official FESPA floor graphics – and an impressive selection of Drytac products in four spaces on the Drytac booth (Stand A5-G40). These four distinct areas will comprise an application space to show how Drytac products are used for real-world projects; a retail shop area with live demonstrations of the graphics being changed each day; an interior decor gallery; and a hospitality zone with food and beverage applications.

Drytac ReTac Textures, a stunning range of embossed wall graphics products, will also be put to creative use in Printeriors 2019, FESPA’s interactive visitor experience displaying interior and exterior decor applications. And at a faster pace, Drytac Polar Cast film will be used by OKI for its live car wrap demonstrations (Stand A5-F10).

In addition, HP (Stand A5-F30), Epson (Stand B5-G10), Roland DG (Stand A5-H10) and Ricoh (Stand B4-K31) will all feature Drytac products and media on their booths. These leading print manufacturers choose Drytac materials for their quality and application-specific features, so this four-pronged showcase is the perfect opportunity for visitors to experience Drytac products with several popular technologies and workflows.

Hayden Kelley, CEO of Drytac, comments: “Drytac products will be on display literally across the show floor at FESPA Global Print Expo 2019, as the official FESPA graphics provider, on the booths of international brands HP, Epson, Roland, Ricoh and OKI, for car wraps, interior design applications and much more. FESPA caters for a huge variety of wide-format markets – just like Drytac’s product portfolio – making this show the ideal showcase for us.”

‘Tried and tested’: supercars get perfect finish with Drytac Spray Booth Liners

Lloyds Autobody, a specialist in body and paintwork repairs for premium and luxury cars, says it has relied on a Spray Booth Liner from Drytac® for the past five years.

Lloyds Autobody was established in Liverpool, UK in 1987, specialising in accident repairs for luxury vehicle brands. It opened a second branch in Manchester in 2000 and across the two sites handles cars from McLaren, Rolls Royce, Bentley, Jaguar Land Rover, the Volkswagen Group and more. Lloyds Autobody is accredited and approved by these brands, so customers know that the service they receive will be of the same quality as from the manufacturer.

To help achieve the exceptional finish required on these high-end cars, Lloyds Autobody uses a Drytac Spray Booth Liner in its two sites’ total of four bays. This white PET carrier film has a double-sided adhesive, with a low-tack side that adheres to spray booth wall panels – designed to peel off easily in one piece – and a high-tack side that faces towards the booth to capture overspray and dust particles. As such, the Spray Booth Liner shields against harmful contaminants in spray booths, reduces static electricity – making spray-painting easier – and increases the luminescence level of the space.

It can be applied like wallpaper, with installation and removal quick and easy to achieve thanks to its non-stretchable PET carrier, with no protective clothing or equipment required. Spray booths can be used immediately following installation of the Spray Booth Liner – there is no need to spray, pressure-wash clean or wait for walls to dry.

Andrew Johnson, Project Manager at Lloyds Autobody, explains that the Spray Booth Liner has been used at the two sites for the past five years, and is replaced every three months.

“We’re open six days a week, with bays full every day with premium cars like Mclarens, Rolls-Royces and Bentleys,” he says. “The Drytac Spray Booth Liner is a tried and tested product that is well worth the investment. It’s easy to remove and replace – you just can just take it off and change it, protecting what’s underneath.”

Andrew Johnson adds that there are similar products on the market but Drytac’s Spray Booth Liner is both more malleable and less expensive than its competitors.

“It’s the best,” he says.

The self-adhesive liner is one of Drytac’s specialty products designed to meet a specific need. The company creates unique adhesive products tailored to customer specifications, alongside its key product areas including window, wall and floor graphic media, laminating films and mounting adhesives, high-performance tapes, industrial adhesives and durable labels.

Say I do to customized wedding floors

Authored By Jerry Hill, Vice President; New Business Development

Floor graphics are fantastic way to grab attention in a range of environments. Displaying special offers in a shopping centre, directional information in a hospital or transport hub, marking out zones at an exhibition or trade show – floors offer a new dimension. Graphics are also ideal for customizing what can be a featureless empty space, turning a room into something magical, even making a newly married couple’s first dance extra special.

Recently, I gave my daughter a beautiful surprise for her wedding by transforming a plain floor into a customized dance floor. I had a custom checkered design with the couple’s new monogram printed on an EFI VUTEk onto Drytac SpotOn Floor 200, a media specifically designed to add effective graphics to standard common floor coverings. This 8-mil (200 micron) embossed printable white matte monomeric PVC film designed for short-term, indoor floor graphics with no need for lamination, featuring Drytac’s innovative ‘dot pattern’ adhesive for clean removal.

Drytac SpotOn Floor 200 has been developed to be so easy to use that, as I’ve said, ‘a salesperson can do it’ (yours truly!). I was really impressed; despite having no prior large floor graphic installation experience myself, I was able to complete the install in under an hour. In doing so, I was able to ensure my daughter had the perfect surprise for her wedding.

All Drytac floor graphics media is developed with safety in mind too – no-one wants the bride or groom to slip over during the couple’s first dance, after all. Drytac SpotOn Floor 200 has an R-10 anti-slip rating and a ‘low slip potential’ post-print, as well as a Class B1 Fire Rating making it suitable for any public areas with strict fire regulations – including wedding venues.

I went for a classic and sophisticated design for my daughter’s big day, but couples can be as creative as they like. Why not take inspiration from Print Three’s transformation of a shopping mall into a tennis court? They used Drytac SpotOn Floor 200 to promote the Calgary National Bank Challenger event in Canada. The temporary blue and white tennis court offered some fun to shoppers, and a sporty couple could even do something similar to add personalization to their wedding. Alternatively, why not go for something totally different? The possibilities to design something unique for a wedding are practically endless.

Drytac Europe announces new appointments to support expanded dealer network

Drytac®, a leading international manufacturer of self-adhesive materials for the large format print and signage markets, is pleased to announce the appointment of two new Regional Sales Managers at Drytac Europe.

Ian Farrand and Dave Newbery will oversee Drytac’s business development in the north and south of England respectively, with Ian based in West Yorkshire, and Dave in Essex. The appointments have been made to support Drytac’s dealer network, which sees Perfect Colours, Soyang, Granthams, Sabur and CSL Digital join existing sales partner Antalis to significantly expand Drytac’s distribution channels.

On Ian’s new appointment at Drytac, Regional Sales Manager Ian Farrand comments: “Having worked in distribution for the last 25 years I am thrilled to have joined Drytac, a leading manufacturer of self-adhesive coated products. I am looking forward to my new role of Regional Sales Manager where I am extremely keen to grow the business for Drytac in the north of England, and feel that my years of experience and knowledge will be invaluable.

“My goal is to ensure that Drytac products become the established range for all my customers, new and old, and our working relationships continue to flourish – as does Drytac.”

His counterpart Dave is already very familiar with Drytac products having worked within the industry – enabling him to hit the ground running in his new role. He starts his new position with immediate effect.

“I am excited about Drytac’s innovative ideas and about the luxury of having a true direct access to our lab and coating lines – it’ll be great to have an input into future products,” says Regional Sales Manager Dave Newbery. “Drytac is also a very technical company in what we do – we design and create products rather than just assembling them – which appeals to me.”

Dave is well respected in the industry for his extensive experience and knowledge of the wide-format printing and finishing sector, built up since leaving school, but his history in print actually goes back even further.

He explains: “I actually started printing in the family screen print business when I was seven, and I’m 48 this year!”

Hayden Kelley, CEO of Drytac, comments: “Drytac is delighted to welcome Ian and Dave, where their decades of experience, knowledge and ambition will make them both fantastic additions to the team. These new appointments, ahead of a busy period full of exciting new product developments, will support our growing distribution network.”
