Premier showcases Drytac with innovative café stand at Sign & Digital UK

Premier, the exclusive stockist of Drytac’s wide-format media in the UK and Ireland, used a range of Drytac products to create the immersive, café-themed stand at the show.

Premier, the exclusive stockist of Drytac’s wide-format media in the UK and Ireland, used a range of these leading materials to create an impressive café-themed stand for its appearance at Sign & Digital UK 2025.

Born from a desire to drive innovation and highlight the potential of Drytac products, Premier’s goal was to spark creativity and inspire visitors by demonstrating real-world applications in an engaging, immersive way.

The planning process began in October 2024, with Premier working closely with the sign and display team to carefully select materials that could bring this vision to life. Each product was chosen to showcase practical and creative end-use applications, demonstrating how Drytac can transform spaces.

“The café concept, with its interior and exterior elements, was the perfect way to highlight materials suited for walls, windows, floors, and even textured surfaces like brick,” said Lizzie Dodd, Assistant Marketing Manager (UK & Ireland) at Premier. “We even ensured all products used in the exterior café space were designed for outdoor durability, while those in the interior were selected for their aptness in indoor environments.

“We wanted to take visitors on a journey throughout the stand, immersing them in a space where every surface had a story to tell. From the moment they stepped inside, they could experience the textures, finishes, and versatility of the materials firsthand, seeing how print can bring a concept to life in a way that’s both functional and visually striking.”

Tasty treat

In total, the stand featured 12 products from Drytac, all of which are available from Premier. Each was used in a different way to showcase the far-reaching capabilities of Drytac solutions.

First, Polar HiGrab, a brand-new product launching this summer was featured in the exterior café garden and on the brick wall. Polar Street FX, an aluminium product designed for rough floors and walls in exterior environments, was applied to the brick wall and outdoor floor to showcase its resilience and adaptability.

Next, Polar Grip, a hard-wearing vinyl with a high coat weight permanent adhesive, was used on external brickwork, as well as on interior countertops and walls, showing its versatility. Premier also worked with Paper Fleece, a non-PVC, paper-based wallcovering with a satin finish, for the interior walls to showcase its aesthetic and dimensional stability benefits for wallcoverings.

Polar PET 170, a non-PVC wall and floor graphic made with 40% recycled PET, was used for floor graphics inside the stand. Premier also used the show to demonstrate Polar Frost Air, a new frosted window graphic featuring an air-release liner for bubble-free application.

Elsewhere on the stand, ReTac Textures Linen & Sand textured wall vinyls were applied to interior walls to highlight the intricate texture and premium feel. SpotOn Floor 200 was installed as floor graphics in the café area to demonstrate its impressive slip rating and easy installation benefit.

Polar Blockout and SpotOn Clear were used together to create a double-sided window graphic without the need for white ink or multiple ink layers. Polar Blockout prevented show-through, while SpotOn Clear allowed for reverse printing and easy application to the inside of the window.

Premier also made use of ChalkMate, a versatile chalkboard film that was printed with white ink. Finally, ReTac Clear PET, a film which is FDA-approved and can be removed cleanly, was applied to tabletops with printed QR codes that visitors could scan.

Each of the above products were featured on the stand as A6 samples. In addition, Premier showcased Polar Chrome, ReTac Textures Canvas, ReTac Smooth 150, SpotOn Matte White, and ViziPrint Impress Clear SEL as A6 samples for visitors to take away, giving them an even broader look at Drytac’s extensive range.

Team effort

DIS Group printed the Polar Street FX floor graphics, Polar Grip Matte posters, Polar PET 170 floor graphics, SpotOn Floor 200 graphics, ChalkMate chalkboard, and ReTac Clear PET table graphics and all A6 samples using its VUTEk H3, a 3.2-metre hybrid roll/flatbed LED inkjet printer.

Meanwhile, Premier’s stand designer, DCE Exhibitions, printed larger graphics using its HP Latex 335, including Paper Fleece Smooth, ReTac Textures Linen and Sand, and Polar Grip Matte & Gloss. The company also took on responsibility for applying all the graphics to the stand.

“Visitors were blown away by the variety and depth of Drytac’s product range,” Lizzie said. “Walking through the stand, we had countless conversations about the endless applications Drytac offers. It wasn’t just about seeing the materials; it was about showing them in action, which really brought them to life.

“The café concept was so convincing that visitors even queued at the barista to pay for a drink! It was a true testament to how print can transform spaces, creating immersive, real-world environments. The ability to showcase so many textures, adhesives, and finishes in one setting was invaluable; it sparked exciting discussions with customers about new ways to use Drytac’s solutions.”

Brad West, Director of Wide Format Media (UK & Ireland) at Premier, added: “Seeing the materials in action, on walls, floors, windows and even textured surfaces, made such an impact. It’s one thing talking about product benefits, but showcasing them in a physical, interactive way made the value of Drytac really come to life.”
